Charcoal Detox Smoothie

Charcoal is becoming very popular in the wellness world lately and I am finally giving it a try! It is amazing for gut health and removing toxins from the body. There are so many other uses for it such as using it as a face mask or a teeth whitener and healing bug bites, stings and burns.


I'm currently using the Coconut Activated Charcoal Powder from Schizandu. It's made from U.S. plant sources and is vegan and gluten-free. I first tried it as a latte mixed with hot almond milk and cinnamon and was very impressed. When I thought "charcoal" I expected it to taste like charcoal and it doesn't at all! This morning I whipped up a delicious detoxing charcoal smoothie. It was filled with protein, collagen, adaptogens and so many other goodies. Check out the recipe below!


One thing to note is to always follow your charcoal consumption with a glass of water to help flush the toxins out of the body. It's also important to not consume any charcoal within a couple hours of taking any medications because it will carry the medications out of the body. I am super excited to see how the addition of charcoal to my wellness routine benefits my body!
