Last month I was blessed to go on an amazing vacation with my mom and sister to Sedona, Arizona. The beauty and energy of this place is absolutely incredible. On our way to our hotel we stopped at the Montezuma Castle National Monument, one of the best preserved cliff dwellings in North America.
Driving into Sedona we got our first view of the beautiful red rocks.
We stayed at a wonderful hotel called the Amara Resort & Spa. You really can’t beat this view from our balcony!
For dinner our first night we ate at Picazzo’s Organic Italian Kitchen where we all feasted on some delicious salads and hummus.
The next morning, we went on an early morning run on the Jordan Trail.
As if that wasn’t a good enough workout, we followed it up with a 6.5 mile hike in the 100 degree heat on the Boynton Canyon Trail. The rock formations we hiked through were amazing and I still can’t get over how beautiful the red colors are.
As we neared our halfway mark it was starting to get super hot and exhausting, but we pushed through and I’m glad we did because the view at the top was definitely worth it.
Towards the end we took a mini detour to the Boynton Canyon Vortex, one of Sedona’s energy vortexes. This one is known for strengthening the masculine/feminine or yin/yang balance.
The next day we drove up to the Grand Canyon. I really had no idea what to expect. I had heard how incredible this place was but after seeing it for myself it is so hard to put into words the beauty and vastness of this place. Staring out at it, it doesn’t even look real. I kept describing it as looking like a painting in front of me. It was phenomenal to say the least.
After we got back into Sedona, we decided to take a last minute trip to another energy vortex, the Airport Mesa Vortex, which is known for strengthening the masculine side. We went at the perfect time as the sun was setting. I have never seen such a beautiful sunset and the energy here was so strong I wish I could have stayed forever.
The next day, we went on a hike on Devil’s Bridge Trail where we ventured onto the “Devil’s Bridge” for the perfect photo opp.
And of course, we had to stop and take a yogi photo.
Afterwards, we went on a second hike to Cathedral Rock which is home to another energy vortex. This one is known for strengthening the feminine side. This wasn’t so much a trail hike as it was climbing up straight rocks. I was so exhausted from all the hiking we had done before but am glad I kept going because the view at the top and the energy here was well worth the climb.
We ended the day with a psychic reading. It seemed like a must-do when you’re in such a spiritual place! Afterwards, we grabbed some dinner at a delicious and healthy Thai restaurant called Thai Spices Natural Restaurant – I highly recommend it!
Overall, it was an adventure-filled trip that I’ll never forget and I’m so glad I was able to experience this beautiful and spiritual town of Sedona with my mom and sister.
