It seems like forever ago that I made a big decision to move across the country to California. Never having been there or knowing anyone in the area, I never knew what to say when people asked, “So..why California?” All I really had to say for myself was that I’ve always had this feeling that it was where I was meant to spend the next part of my life. Having lived in Minnesota for almost 25 years, I was just ready for something new – new adventures, new places and new friends. So, I decided it was finally time to venture out to California to put my intuition to the test. Three weeks ago my mom and I packed our bags and headed out to the place that I would soon call home – Orange County, California.
Our days were busy and involved meeting with companies, apartment hunting and scoping out the land – but we did manage to get some treats and adventuring in, too. We came across this place in Huntington Beach called Banzai Bowls where we treated ourself to a colorful Pitaya Bowl – delicious! Can’t wait to get that again.
We walked down the windy pier in “Surf City” (Huntington Beach) and watched the surfers catch waves.
We went for a hike in Laguna Beach at this beautiful place called “Top of the World,” clearly known for its amazing views – it was quite the workout, too!
After our hike, we walked along the beach at Crystal Cove. It was absolutely gorgeous.
It was such a fun, productive trip and I’m so happy to have had my mom along for the ride with me. Soon, I will be able to call this place my home and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve created this blog to share with my family and friends my experiences throughout this journey. Stay tuned for adventures to come.
